Running the Venice Marathon 2023 means experiencing the emotion of discovering a route full of charm, history, art and culture, from Stra to the heart of Venice. You will run and cross places of rare beauty: the Riviera del Brenta with its famous and characteristic 18th-century villas reflected in the river, the evocative and colourful historic centre of Mestre, the green avenues of the San Giuliano Park overlooking the lagoon, and then reach the splendid Venice.
Departure will take place at approximately 9.40 a.m. The precise time will be established the day before the race according to organisational and TV broadcasting requirements.
The route of the Venice Marathon 2023 is basically flat and fast. The only difficulties are encountered between the 25th and 35th kilometres, in the form of 3-4 short uphill sections of 100 metres or so in length. In the final part of the marathon (last 3 kilometres), runners tackle 14 small bridges over typical Venetian canals. The bridges are equipped with wooden ramps so that the runners do not have to climb steps.
