Arena Opera Festival in Verona
In the incredible setting of the Arena di Verona, the Arena Opera Festival in Verona takes place every summer with a rich calendar of operas, concerts and ballets.
Verdi’s Aida and Rigoletto, Rossini’s Barber of Seville and Bizet’s Carmen are the major opera performances.

An extraordinary Festival to celebrate the incredible 100th Opera Season in the Arena, with the most successful titles. And with repeats over the 100 editions since its birth in 1913: 49 unrepeatable evenings in less than three months.

Aida: A “crystal” Aida: Stefano Poda signs the new staging of Verdi’s masterpiece.
Carmen: Franco Zeffirelli’s historic Carmen, naturally with costumes by Anna Anni and choreography by El Camborio.
Il Barbiere di Siviglia: “Largo al factotum della città” and Gioachino Rossini’s most famous opera buffa: Il Barbiere di Siviglia, dedicated to the cunning Figaro.
Rigoletto: an impetuous opera exalting passion and love, revenge and power.
La Traviata: “Libiamo, libiamo ne’ lieti calici” in honour of Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata, the most performed opera in the world
Nabucco: “Va, pensiero, sull’ali dorate” and rekindle the fire of Giuseppe Verdi’s first masterpiece, which returns to the Arena in the staging created in 1991 by Gianfranco de Bosio
Tosca: “E lucevan le stelle”… and shine on the Arena from 29 July to 1 September, on the occasion of the four performances of Giacomo Puccini’s beloved Tosca
Madama Butterfly: “Un bel dì, vedremo” Madama Butterfly (Giacomo Puccini’s famous “Japanese tragedy”) returns to the Arena in Franco Zeffirelli’s evocative staging
Roberto Bolle and Friends: Created in 2008 with the aim of bringing ballet to unprecedented venues, the Roberto Bolle & Friends Gala came to the Arena in 2012
Plácido Domingo: At the 100th Arena Festival, an evening in the company of Plácido Domingo, who has been in the Arena since 1969, is a must.
