Milan
Milan, the economic capital of Italy, an effervescent, modern, dynamic and enterprising city. A city that can, indeed must, be experienced in every aspect, especially the cultural one with the famous Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, the Duomo, the Castello Sforzesco and the numerous museums scattered throughout the city. And at the end of the day then a tasty and sparkling aperitif on the banks of the Navigli.
All these evenings I went, around one o’clock in the morning, to see the Duomo in Milan. This church, illuminated by a beautiful moon, offers a spectacle of extraordinary and unique beauty.

The Duomo di Milano
The Duomo di Milano is one of the highest expressions of Italian Gothic architecture. Commissioned by Gian Galeazzo Visconti, Lord of Milan, it was built from 1387 on the remains of the cathedrals of Santa Maria Maggiore and Santa Tecla. Dominated by the famous Madonnina covered in gold leaf, its terrace can be visited and offers a splendid view of the entire city.
The Last Supper
The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, the extraordinary work of art known throughout the world, frescoed between 1494 and 1498 in the Convent of Santa Maria Delle Grazie. Enjoy a visit to this great work that will take you into the world of perspective, expressiveness and light of the great master.
The Castello Sforzesco
The Castello Sforzesco: the ancient seat of medieval Milanese political power, an impregnable fortress that today offers visitors a glimpse into the Italian Middle Ages. Today it houses great works of art including the Pietà Rondanini, Michelangelo’s famous unfinished masterpiece, Andrea Mantegna’s Madonna in Gloria and the splendid 12 tapestries painted by Bramantino representing the 12 months of the year.
The Navigli
The Navigli, the complex system of irrigated and navigable canals in the heart of Milan that receive water and allow navigation to Lake Como and Lake Maggiore and in whose construction Leonardo da Vinci also participated. Today, the Naviglio Grande area is one of the trendiest in the city, with an intense nightlife and numerous clubs frequented by young people.
